Getting Ready

Women choose to have a Boudoir photo shoot for very different reasons: for fun, for a lover, to boost self-esteem, to celebrate a milestone in life, to show a different side of themselves. Feel free to share yours with me so that I can get a feel for the vibe you’re going for and tailor your experience to your needs and ideas.

Here are a few tips for getting ready for your shoot day.

Posing: the mirror is your friend
It’s a good idea to pose in front of it and try expressions and poses: knowing what you’re doing and what works for you will allow you to have a boosted confidence on your boudoir shoot. I’ll give you all the guidance you need on the day, together with the help of the Art Director always present in studio.

Style: bring your personality with you
Bring whatever you love and makes you feel comfortable and beautiful. Pick out lingerie that highlights your lovely curve: baby dolls, silk dressing gowns, corsets, stockings or hold-ups (no tights please!) will make you feel fabulous. But don’t forget sometimes a tight T-shirt, soft sweater or over-sized button-down shirt can be even sexier: bring in things that personalise your shoot.

Choose underwear and clothes that are well fitted and consider carrying spares, especially if you wanna a picture with a special clothing or an accessory. Please remember that boudoir photography is all about high chic and effortless class. Unseemly rips and tears are not helpful.
Remember that less is more: very bright colours, busy patterns and fussy shapes all take attention away from you.

High heels are a must and make a big difference to your posture. Just remember to clean them carefully, or it works even better if they are brand new. We’ll do a range of bare feet and heeled looks.

Hair & Make-up: bring your angel face
The more natural the skin the better when it comes to photography. So please come in with a clean and moisturized make-up free face and clean and dry hair: we’ll do the rest. My make-up and hair stylist will make you look fabulous.

Fake tan is strongly discouraged because it doesn’t fit the lights I use and it risks to stain furniture.

Manicure/Pedicure: perfect from head to toe
Consider having a manicure and pedicure so your hands and feet will look neat & tidy. Neutral colours are best because they don’t draw too much attention, but if bright colours suit your personality, go for them! Just try to ensure the colour does not clash with the colours of your clothing or lingerie that you are bringing in for your photoshoot.

Skin: take your time to shine
If it is your preference, we recommend waxing at least a few days before your shoot to avoid any bumpiness or redness.

The night before: sweet dreams
Enjoy a relaxed, quiet evening and plan for a good night’s sleep. Night out just before the shooting day is a very bad thing as I can retouch many things but puffy eyes from going out the previous night always show up and are impossible to retouch.
